| Folk Orchestra Leader Marko Brkić |
| Born January 20, 1983 in Belgrade. Started playing violin at the age of seven as a pupil of Kosta Manojlović School of Music in Zemun. Graduated from the School of Music at the age of thirteen, after which he joined the Đoka Pavlović Cultural-Artistic Association as the youngest and regular member of the orchestra led by Prof. Zoran Karanikolić. After five years he transferred to the orchestra of the Cultural-Artistic Association of the New Belgrade Polytechnic Academy. Two years later, he was promoted folk orchestra leader and spent two years at that position. He returned to the Pavlović Ensemble at the initiative of its president, continuing his activity in the organization where he first began his professional engagement as the folk orchestra leader. Beside violin, he also plays tambura cello in a tambura orchestra symbolically called Young Tambura Players from Zemun. He is a student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and considers his engagement as the orchestra leader as a 'hobby that requires a lot of dedication'. | |
